This is a pastel drawing of an apple. It is a rather good pastel drawing of an apple. I used cast shadows and highlights on the apple to create a life source, and I placed the apple below the horizon line in order to show dimension.

For the charcoal drawing, I used the proportions of the human body to draw my head. I used a mirror to see myself. In proportion, the nose is at the same level as the bottom of the ears and the eyes. The shading produces dimension, and the highlights in the hat creates a light source.

Composition: I placed the colors that were similar to each other as far away from each other as possible, and created movement by placing lines for the eye to follow.
Thumbnail sketch: A thumbnail sketch is a small-scale drawing of your composition. A viewfinder helped decide which part of the composition to draw.
3D: I placed objects behind one another and made cast shadows to show dimension.
Light source: I placed highlights on the feathers where the light struck and used the direction of the shadows to create a light source.

Acrylic Painting

In my painting, I organized it by putting the sky in the top, so as to show that it was the furthest away. The background I painted over the sky, leaving a little bit of sky above showing. I then placed the wide expanse of white below the sky and background, showing that it was in front, then with the foreground I did the same. Atmospheric perspective is when you dull the intensity as the object moves further away. I did this by lowering the intensity of the mountains. I created a light source by adding value with shadows. My color scheme was monochromatic blue. I used long, smooth brushstrokes throughout the painting. I used value by adding black to the color to darken it and white to lighten it.

Check it, this is the bowl I made. I used a slab roller to flatten the clay, then I laid the template over it and cut around the template to make my shape. Once done with that, I put the cut clay into a slump mold (a frying pan, to be exact). Then I let it harden, and glazed it. I fired it immediately after it was dried.
